Meeting Elizabeth_Town College

On 19/05/2015, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), Faculty of Social Work held an exchanging with Elizabeth Town College, USA at Dinh Tien Hoang Campus. The representatives from USSH includes Associate Dean of Social Work Faculty, Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, others officers and students. Representing Elizabeth Town College were scholar of Fulbright and Associate Professor Peggy McFarland 25 other lecturers and students.

On behalf of the Faculty of Social Work the meeting started with Associate Dean Nguyen Thi Thu Hien giving a warm welcome to the representatives from Elizabeth Town College. Then, she also gave an overview of USSH as well as sharing the journey of the founding and development of Social Work Faculty at USSH.
Aossociate Professor Peggy McFarland and students also described an overview of their school and the programs they provided.

After the introductions, the exchange were followed with various engaging, exciting and festive activities. Through playing games, students from both schools were able to bond quickly and strengthen their connectiong. The Sign Language Club USSH’s Social Work greeted Elizabeth Town College with special performances using sign language as part of dance routine and sign along to songs.

At the next part of the meeting, students were given topics to discussed on which targeted on working with : street children, poverty and aged care. Students were asked to take on the role of social worker to address these cases’s by work together, shared experiences and other related matters.

The meeting closed with, Associate Dean Nguyen Thi Thu Hien sent souvenirs and thanks to associate professor Peggy McFarland, lectures, students from Elizabeth Town College.
